The State Administration of Water Affairs stopped the construction of a hydroelectric power plant in Tortum/Erzurum on March 23 in face of the growing reaction and struggle of the peasants.
The construction of the HPP pulled the attention already with the struggle of the women and the attack of the gendarmerie forces on them several month ago the AKP government plans to construct hundreds of hydroelectric and thermal power plant in many provinces despite the increasing action and organisation of the people, especially the peasantry against them.
