The HPG -BIM (Press and Information Centre) informed, that on March 24 fifteen women guerrilla fighters lost their lives during clashes with the colonialist Turkish army in the mountains between the province Hizan in Bitlis and the province Baykan in Siirt. {divide} At the ceremonies with which the 15 guerrilla women of the HPG were send to their last journey in Van, Batman, Amed and elsewhere, tens of thousands received the HPG fighters with banners in the Kurdish colours yellow, green and red, posters of the 15 women fighters and of Abdullah Ocalan. Slogans like "Martyrs do not die", " PKK is the people, the people are here" and "Long live leader Apo" never stopped nor during the funeral ceremonies nor in the mourning tends visited by thousands of people each. Women were carrying the coffins of the women freedom fighters wrapped in flags of KCK and PKK and the spirit of resistance and struggle was invincible. On March 29, DTK Coordination Council member Ayla Akat Ata said after one of the 7 funerals in only 4 days in Batman: "Those who give the command for this operation should know that when there is the reality of the martyrdom of 15 women guerrillas, there is also a reality behind that. (...) When tens of thousands are marching behind the coffins of the Kurdish women taking a stand, than there is a reality of a resisting people, a people loving freedom and having the honourable attitude to fight for that." At the funeral ceremony for Selma Avci (Rozerin Berfin) in Batman, her father said, "We do not regret anything. We will walk on the way of our martyrs." And her mother added: "My daughter is a martyr of Kurdistan, the martyr of all of us." The mother of HPG member Asuman Mucel (Viyan Dirok) said in Amed: "My Viyan became a martyr; thousands of Viyans are in the mountains. I do not regret that she went there. I hold my head high." On March 31, no shop was open in Semdinli , Hakkari in memory of the 15 women guerrilla fighters, who were killed in the countryside between Bitlis and Siirt. Except the bakeries, none of the shopkeepers opened the shutters in the province. Already on March 29, the shopkeepers in Nusaybin had closed their shutters protesting against the Turkish army and in the Province Derik of Mardin also no shutter was open except pharmacies and bakeries accompanied by a schools boycott of the pupils. The same occurred in Sirnak, in the province Silvan of Amed and elsewhere in Kurdistan. Moreover, several statements have been published about the martyrdom of the 15 young Kurdish guerrilla women. The Kurdish Women Movement KJB said "As Kurdish Women Movement we will ask account in the strongest way for these attacks". PAJK underlined in its statement that Leyla Altan (Arjin Garzan), member of the PAJK assembly and of the YJA STAR military council has grown together with the 14 other women fighters the values of struggle and that they will ask account for their martyrdom. The SKB from Europe also made a statement saying that every seed falling to the ground becoming Arjin, Berfin, Zilan, Beritan, Ronahi, Yasemin will grow in the freedom fight. They greeted the resistance of the 15 women freedom fighters against the fascist attack and ended with the words "The freedom of the Kurdish women is our freedom". During the same period, the HPG-BIM informed that guerrilla units of the HPG carried out a series of actions in the morning of March 26 in Hakkari, province Cukurca during which 13 soldiers of the colonialist fascist Turkish army were killed by the guerrilla forces.
