The imperialist states have forced to bring together the sides in Syria to find solutionunder UN umbrella. It is definitely by force, because the sides, who supposed to come together months before, were only able to meet months later. It was therefore obvious that there would only be a forced result from a forced meeting.

The ones, who brought together as sides, were far from being representatives of Syrian people, but the representatives of this or that imperialist countries and regional forces.

The meeting, claiming to find a solution to the on-going civilwar in Syria, is nothing else than a “dog fight” between the forces, who tries to make other to accept one’s conditions and interests, as the character of participants show. It is therefore right to ask the question: why and with what aims the prominent imperialist countries and the countries, which do have no relation with the region, participate in this meeting and why the forces, which really fights in Syria and demand a free and democratic Syria, are not represented? In the meeting, attended by nearly 40 countries under UN umbrella, including Turkey, there is nothing on the agenda except acceptance of the plans prepared by the US and Russia by other participants. The only matter is the acceptance of “grave cloths” stitched on temporary basis for Syria by these two imperialist countries. However, if we look at the words of the sides, they make efforts to calm down the “wretched souls”, too. For example, while the Western imperialist forces, particularly the US, talk about a future without Asad, Russia is on the side of a Syria with Asad. The Syrian people fighting for a democratic and free country and the Kurds as its part are not represented in the meeting, but the regime forces and Islamic gangs those who are skilled in devastation are being represented.

As Heysem, the leader of National Coordination for Democratic Change that is also participated by PYD, said: “There is everyone around the Geneva table except the representatives of Syrian people. This meeting is not a choice for Syria; they are opening doors for a new chaos…”

This meeting is the meeting of those who were pulled from their ears to come together; and yet they claim that they have brought together the regime and the opposition. The UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon also calls on the “use of this opportunity”. But, in this conference, there is no interlocutor opposite the regime. The US Secretary of State J. Kerry says “Asad is not going to be in the transitional government”, on the other hand, the Russian Foreign Minister S. Lavrov says the principal task of the conference is to ensure the end of conflict and stop its spread to other countries in the region. While the Syrian Foreign Minister V. Muallim says “B. Asad and his regime is our red line. No one can touch our President”, the Turkish Foreign Minister Davoutoglu says “The one who committed these crimes must be brought to justice. This conference is a great opportunity to end the Syrians sufferings”. It is very clear that they all came to the meeting with their swords in their hands.

And Iran thinks not to take place in the Geneva -2 rather than accepting declaration that was decided in Geneva-1 Conference in June 2012 and was foreseeing the formation of a transitional government without Asad.

We see everyone except Syrians in the meeting but the ones fighting are not there. This is why the decisions which would be taken at the meeting will not have chance to be implemented, too. For them to be implemented there needs to be implementers.

The Geneva-2 meeting, which was started on 22 January under the shadow of legitimacy, continues on the way of not reaching any conclusion. Some may have had hope for it, but from its organisation to content, and who the invitees represent, it was an open expression of failure and death at the birth.

While it was very obvious that the problem cannot be solved with the opposition, who is already in crises, with opposition forces who is no different than Asad forces and with the representatives of the regime, what would be the aim of such meeting?

None of the forces attending at the meeting aims to build a democratic and free Syria. A new Syria in accordance with the interest of the US and Russia wanted to be build. The course of hegemonic struggle, the balance of power between US and Russia will play determining role on the future of Syria. This is why it is nothing else than an illusion to expect any developments in the interests of Syrian and Middle Eastern peoples from Geneva-2. Russia andUS, both in rivalry and cooperation, try to set dominant their own willpower.

Otherwise the forces who are on the side of free and democratic Syria even under the conditions of war, for example the Kurds in Rojava should have joined the conference. Under the conditions of war and rivalry among imperialists, regional powers and the forces who involved in the civil war, Rojava have followed another path; they tend to build free and democratic life by forming their own management. It is also possible to understand from the course of Geneva-2 conference that the Syrian question cannot be solved without Rojava.

The organisers of the meeting should know that there are three sides and not two in the Syrian question; the existing regime, oppositional forces, and the Rojava Kurds and Syrian people. Without seeing this reality and ending the external intervention, none of the problems in Syria can be solved on the basis of democracy and freedoms. Most probably there would only be a Syria formed on the basis of new relations of dependency and slavery, serving the interests of this or that imperialist power.

The Geneva-2 talks are still continuing under direct control of the US and Russia, and on thin ice. The result achieved up to now is like “the mountain gave birth to a mouse”. Only “Hummus agreement” could have come out from these talks.

The Geneva-2 is another stage of balance of powers in Syria and, in connection with this, the extending of war. Nothing else…

Let’s remind imperialists and their regional collaborators through this conference again that that neither in the Middle East nor anywhere else in the world, your reign is not eternal. The Middle East will break the yoke of colonialism, oppression, plunder and tyranny; and will build democratic and socialist federation in the Middle East. The people of Middle East will continue with their struggle by building the brotherhood and common life.
