FOR THE VICTORY OF THE REVOLUTION,

LONG LIVE THE MLKP

MLKP was founded on September 10th, 1994. The documents of the Founding Congress (Unity Congress) formed her theoretical, political and organizational bases. This historical event, expressed as the "Unity Revolution", is a result of the struggle conducted by the party's predecessor organizations bearing the thought of "unity of communists" within themselves and among each other since 1989.

In 1991, TDKIH (Revolutionary Communist Workers' Movement of Turkey) and TKIH (Communist Workers' Movement of Turkey) were united. In 1994, TKIH and TKP-ML Hareketi (Communist Party of Turkey- Marxist Leninist Movement) gathered the Unity Congress and MLKP-F (Marxist Leninist Communist Party - Foundation) was founded. The 1st Conference which convened in September 1995 (Party and Unity Conference) realized the unity of MLKP-F and TKP-ML (YIO) (Communist Party of Turkey-Marxist Leninist/Reconstruction Organization) and eliminated the addition of "Foundation". Thus, MLKP was created through the unification of four communist organizations.

A SHORT LOOK AT THE COMMUNIST MOVEMENT BEFORE MLKP

Founded by Mustafa Suphi and his comrades in Baku on September 10th, 1920, whose revolutionary historical legacy is also claimed by MLKP by choosing the same date as its own foundation day, TKP (Communist Party of Turkey) was a party carrying out its actions in Marxist-Leninist line and a member of Komintern. However, right after M. Suphi and his comrades entered Turkey to uphold a struggle against the imperialist occupation, on January 29th, 1921, they were killed by drowning by Turkish bourgeois regime under administration of Mustafa Kemal. The TKP, after this big blow bringing the loss of her leadership, experienced a break of party line and skidded to opportunism.

Becoming the Turkey branch of modern revisionism after 1956, the TKP did not exhibit a considerable mental and actual existence in the struggle of revolution and socialism. For this reason, the period between 1921-1971, was defined as 50 years of pacifism and reformism of the TKP.

The organizations which were the architectures of the revolutionary surge of 1971, THKO (People's Liberation Army of Turkey), THKP-C (People's Liberation Party-Front of Turkey) and TKP-ML (Communist Party of Turkey-Marxist Leninist), tore apart this 50 years of class co-operation and opportunism period with their understandings and actions.

All of whose leaders became immortals one after another in the struggle against the fascist regime of March 12th, 1971 military coup, each three revolutionary organizations left indelible revolutionary values and traditions, a big revolutionary heritage for the revolution of Turkey and Kurdistan, the working class and the oppressed, revolutionaries and communists. The spirit of revolutionary will and surge which was carried from them to today, determination of struggle and sacrifice spirit, revolutionary solidarity and comradeship-in-arms became the soil of revolutionary movement. The roots of the MLKP, are based on the revolutionary surge of '71 in terms of both her revolutionary existence mode and the direct physical bonds of the structures which formed her.

The second half of 1970's witnessed broad separations in the revolutionary movement of Turkey, and also echoes of the confrontations which international communist movement then went through. Founded after THKP-C, THKP-C/ML took the name of TKIH. The division of TKP-ML into two gave rise to TKP-ML Hareketi. TKP-ML (YIO), on the other hand, split from TKP-ML Hareketi. Another group of communists, later organized themselves as TDKIH after a separation from TDKP which was founded instead of THKO.

Espousing the line of CPC-PLA (Communist Party of China - Party of Labor of Albania) in the struggle against Soviet modern revisionism, rejecting the "Three World Theory" and "Mao Zedung's Thought" of CPC at the end of 1970's, deepening on Marxism-Leninism by leaping forward from populist revolutionariness, these organizations followed a parallel ideological, theoretical and political development pattern. Despite of some differences of their theoretical perceptions, daily politics and organizational works, completeness of their mental and actual existences showed them that they were walking on the same Marxist-Leninist line.

STRUGGLE FOR UNITY OF COMMUNISTS AND RISE OF THE MLKP

The guide routing the predecessors of the MLKP is the principle which states the requirement of unification of communists in one single vanguard party in each country for the proletarian revolutionary class struggle. While the thought and struggle for the unity of communists meant a radical intervention to the communist movement of Turkey and North Kurdistan itself and a claim to raise the revolutionary warfare, it also turned out to be a move in order to overcome the structural crisis which was absorbing the revolutionary and communist movements in 1990's and to respond the new historical period of struggle for socialism. In short, the unity of communists was both an issue of principles and an actual political duty.

However, realizing the unity of communists required a big revolutionary will, kind of shoveling against the flow.

Under circumstances where USSR and Warsaw Pact collapsed, China entered a capitalist route and Albania was surrendered to imperialists, lots of revolutionary and communist party were devastated or sank into treachery swamp. The end of 20th century was staging to the defeat of socialism, the international communist movement was tumbling down to a deep ideological and organizational crisis. USA had won the Cold War, international bourgeoisie had declared "the end of history", at the same time, changes had taken place of the internal structure of monopolist capitalism which was opening the stage of imperialist globalization. All of these, was pointing out that the conditions of world revolution was changing and a new historical phase of the struggle for socialism was opening.

In Turkey, fascist military coup of September 12th, 1980 has defeated the revolutionary and communist movement heavily, causing a series of organizations to fall into liquidation vortex. Spontaneous worker's movement coming to life since 1987, on contrary to 1970's, this time, was not carrying a tendency of bonding with any of the socialism-claiming political flow. This situation means the expiration of the style of "revolutionary spontaneity" which was based on growing by the flow of masses to the revolutionary ranks spontaneously, instead of growing by applying a revolutionary strategy willingly. On the other hand, national liberation movement of guerrilla initiated in 1984 was succeeding in holding on and a national liberation revolution was bursting out in Kurdish cities with the people's upheavals called " serhildan ", but counter to this, colonialist fascist Turkish bourgeois state was succeeding in provoking and spreading the Turkish counterrevolutionary reaction and chauvinism as it could.

Coming into being of MLKP through unifying of communists from different organizations under such conditions required a revolutionary will which cleared her own path. The struggle for the unity of communists lasting for 5 years, experiences various ups and downs including unity demanding progresses, congestions due to the raised head of fractionism, depressions of reciprocal trust and comradely refreshing trust. Whenever a stronger revolutionary willpower put forth and the plan and method of the unity was materialized, there appeared the foundation of MLKP on the horizon.

The unity plan and method, was based on the indisputable principle which states the divisions discussed as topics between the organizations shall not be qualified as obstacles in front of organizational unity. It was decided to convene a unified congress and tie the issues in to the solutions by the delegates joining to this congress. A twofold method in the form of "Unity of organizations" and "unity of communists of both organizations" was developed; thus, founding arguments were implemented not only between organizations, but at the same time among the communist individuals in the ranks of these organizations. Collective discussion papers by a common commission were prepared and published. An inner discussion publication came out. Communists had the chance to have discussions with each other in written in this publication and in verbal at the common meetings. Simultaneous to all these, the organizations stepping to the unity path performed unified actions in all fields and carried out common political works.

Only and only by a tight revolutionary will and plan which locked in to the aim of unity and a revolutionary flexibility completing this methodically; the pressure of unique pasts and traditions of each one of the organizations struggling for unity, even the sectarianism and fractionism in their ranks but hiding behind the words of "principled unity" could be overcome. And experience of unity struggle of MLKP became a significant foothold and acquisition for both the unity of communist groups in each single country and the unity of international communist movement.

Gathering the delegates from both organizations, the Unity Congress, as a fully authorized congress, convened to be the decision organ founding the basis on which the new party would rise and forming the ideological unity, the unity of will and action of communists. It shaped the program and the statute of the party. It determined the revolutionary strategy of the party and defined the basic tactical issues, drew the general organizing plan and political route. It decided on founding the Communist Youth Organization (KGÖ). It chose the central committee leading all the works of the party.

The Unity Congress founded the vanguard detachment and the war staff of proletariat from Turkish and Kurdish nations, Lazs, Abkhazs, Georgians, Circassians, Gypsies, Arabs, Armenians, Greeks and other nationalities, the Turkey and Kurdistan branch of world communist movement, the MLKP.

WHAT MLKP FIGHTS FOR

MLKP aims at leading the unification of working class and all the oppressed in the struggle for freedom and socialism and leading the proletarian revolution's reaching to victory in order to end imperialist capitalism and slavery wage system. It fights for the sake of the victory of unified revolution of Turkey and Kurdistan, which will be a part of world proletarian revolution.

Taking the anti-imperialist democratic revolution that is the first step of revolution in the lands of Turkey and Kurdistan into its minimum program, the MLKP toils for building footholds of the working class, the urban and rural poor, Kurdish people, Alewi laborers, laboring women, youth of people, laboring peasantry, honorable intellectuals, despised lgbti's against imperialism, fascism and colonialism on a revolutionary basis.

According to the program of MLKP, with the anti-imperialist democratic revolution, the monopolist Turkish bourgeoisie's fascist dictatorship will be overthrown; a federative power, "union of workers'-laborers' soviet republics" will be established under the administration of people's assemblies and based on the complete equality of nationalities. The financial-economic dependency relationships to imperialism will be torn apart. This first step of the revolution supplying the acquisition of political freedom for the working class and all the oppressed, will recognize the self-determination and national unification right of Kurdish nation which will be freed from the imperialist yoke after this first step. This first step will immediately remove the racist and sectarian oppression over the national communities and religious communities. To put an end to the male dominant oppression on women and towards achieving the liberation of women, it will take all the necessary measures. The revolutionary power will stop Turkish bourgeoisie's racist chauvinist and politic-islamist expansionism. It will position as the internationalist base of the world revolution, aim to found democratic or socialist federations of the peoples of Middle East, Balkans and Caucasus.

The first step of the revolution in Turkey and Kurdistan, the anti-imperialist democratic revolution is a transition foothold to the second step, socialist revolution. Defending the uninterrupted revolution, the ultimate goal of the MLKP is to overthrow capitalism, to build proletarian dictatorship and socialism. It is to carry the emancipation struggle of the proletariat which is identical to the emancipation of humanity, until the foundation of a classless, gender-equal, stateless world without borders and exploitation.

Today, marching towards this goal, as the most vital and most urgent task of the communists, requires struggling with a complete will and determination in order to solve the contradiction between the convenience of the objective conditions of the proletarian world revolution and the deficiency of the subjective conditions of it and to develop the vanguard revolutionary parties of the working class in each country.
