From 23rd to 24th May 2016 the World Humanitarian Summit under the UN umbrella took place in Istanbul. This summit took place the first time in UN’s history with the aim to prevent the death resulting from the “humanitarian crisis” all over the World and to find solutions as well as to unite the organisations that cooperate internationally and that will work in this field. In total delegates and NGOs from 170 countries participated, among them 60 heads of state and heads of government. What was discussed? They talked about creating humanitarian standards all over the world whose conditions are unclear, about repeating the funds that were made, financing support groups that work locally, ensuring respecting war rules as well as organising the migrants among the countries.
Of course they also listened a lot to the dictator Erdogan who was in the role of hosting the summit along with the Mehter marshes.
It is highly questionable that the imperialist countries stay silent and agree to organise such a summit with such a lot of propaganda and for the first time under the UN umbrella in Turkey. This situation shouldn’t have to do with Turkey as “the country that helps the most according to its GDP”. The reason why these countries organise this summit is that in fact that they know that they are responsible for the drama humanity has to face, for these wars full of rivalry, domination and plundering and for the millions of people to migrate. This is why some countries within the EU, the USA and Russia didn’t participate.

For two days the Turkish committee under the leadership of Erdogan hyped their supporting activities serving imperialist aims and explained how human the fascist dictatorship would be whilst Turing the country into hell for the working class, labourers masses and the Kurdish nation.

Which decision was taken? As always there was no concrete decision taken at this summit. It couldn’t be taken anyway. If someone who murders, exploits and plunders says that he is against murdering, exploiting and plundering, what decision could be taken? This summit organised in the shadow of the massacres in Turkey, Syria and many other countries in the world was a fiasco indeed. Look at these embarrassments: ´All imperialist countries, their collaborators, those who in their own countries make millions of people face oppression and are responsible for the wars which make millions of people migrate, they do dirty negotiations on these people and then come together and think about “Humanitarian Help”. And then, the summit is organised in Turkey where every day dozens of people are killed.

They are all hypocritical! Turkey, that hosted the summit, didn’t sign the declaration signed by 49 countries on applying international human law in the war areas.

In the declaration the most important point is noted as the protection of civilians and reminding countries in war and organisations that they have to act according to international human law and must protect civilians. In the declaration it also said that civilians and armed sides have to be fully separated and direct attacks on civilians are forbidden in international law principles. There is also the call not to attack not only civilians but also hospitals, cultural places and areas that are protected. The declarations also demands to ensure the conditions that the UN and international support organisations could enter the war zones, that UN and human support employees are allowed to enter the war zones without any barriers, that they are protected and that stuff and teams are not to be attacked.

Dictator Erdogan, who enjoyed hosting the summit, showed insolence by saying “we have to Show more effort in order to stop international law violations” and neglecting the ongoing war in Turkey and the massacres by the army and police in those areas that declared self-government in Northern Kurdistan. Once the declaration is signed it would come out that the crimes and massacres committed under the name “fight against the terrorists” in Cizre and Sur and many other places make the population deprive of health care and food supply and that their “progressive democracy” will be exposed. This is why Turkey didn’t sign the declaration.
