On 24th August 2016 the colonial Turkish state entered Syrian borders with tanks and war planes and together with the Free Syrian Army. Under the pretext of clearing of political- Islamic IS, Jarabulus was occupied. It lookd like the aim was IS, but in reality Kurdish people were targeted as well as the Kurdish Free Movement and Democratic Syria Powers.
With the victory in Al-Hasakah and the liberation of Manbij, the Democratic Syria Powers and the YPG advanced or ensured its impact in the region, this lead to the fact that IS could no longer exist in Jarabulus and that the Kurdish cantons in Rojava could be united. And this pointed towards the Foundation of North Syria that was wanted to be created by the Kurds and the people in alliance with. And also the basis for a democratic Syria could be created. These developments scared countries like Turkey, Iran, Syria, the USA, Russia and the EU. The reason for approving the colonial occupation against the Kurdish victories is the fact that the people want to determine their own fate.
This military occupation happened in alliance with fascist IS. The IS militants either joined the Free Syrian Army or left Jarabulus to go to El Rab and Turkey, because the occupation by Turkey and the Free Syrian Army in the region would have let the way free for IS to go to Al-Raqqah. Although their flags are different, gang groups such as Al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and the Army of Conquest, similar to IS, as well as the fascist Turkish army would have settled in the region. They are of the same ideological and political basis. Due to this occupation, IS will continue to exist.
Due to Turkey’s politics in the Middle East and Syria, the Kurdish liberation movement and achievements face liquidation. Whilst the enemy bears politics at that point, there is a strategic collaboration and partnership between Turkey, Iran and Syria. Kurdish hostility leads Turkish fascist regime’s politics within the country and abroad. The real aim of the occupation is to prevent the union of the Kurdish cantons of Kobane and Afrin. The Turkish army and the Free Syrian Army are preparing for a war against Minbij which was liberated. Attacks against the YPG and the Democratic Syria Powers have started.
MLCP Rojava describes the occupation of Jarabulus and the duties of our party as following: “The occupation of Jarabulus is an open attack on the Democratic Syria Council (MSD), Rojava and North Syria Democratic Federal System and all people that are part of this system. The aim is the hegemony of reaction, fascism, colonialism, neglection and people’s hostility against the liberation struggle in Rojava, Syria and the Middle East.” This occupation is described as “the aim to prevent the alliance between the cantons in Rojava”. And the political and military duties are mentioned as: “This occupation plan supported by the reaction in the region and US-imperialism has no chance to win. The Kurdistan liberation movement, its vanguard and we communists will give an answer to the occupants in the way they understand.”
MLCP Rojava calls upon the people to fight against fascism and occupation: “The people in Syria, Rojava, Turkey and the Middle East must revolt against occupation, fascism, reaction, despotism and dictatorships all over the world and against the Turkish state’s occupation in Jarabulus.”
The world’s revolutionaries and oppressed declared the 1st November the Day of Solidarity with Kobane and ensured its victory. And today the Rojava revolution and the resistance in Kobane that are being attacked need the same international solidarity and fight.
