Despite of all the efforts of the imperialism to hide its defeat in Iraq, the reality shows the face of its defeat everyday more clearly: the occupants are up to their ears in difficulties! Neither with the elections, nor with the debates on constitution, was imperialism able to create a democracy-image or to stop the resistance against occupation. All the peoples in Iraq resist against the occupation in their country; an occupation which means Abu Ghraib, arbitrance, violation, provocation of the national conflicts, dependence and misery every day.

The peoples all over the world stood up against this war and the occupation which followed it; millions filled the streets and they cried out "No to war in Iraq!" in all languages. In relation with the protests against the neoliberal attacks against the workers in their own country, they expressed their protests in a high voice against the aggression against the Iraqi people. In order to strengthen this solidarity with the Iraqi resistance and the peoples, and to prevent that this subject is left to be forgotten after the announcement of the "end of the war in Iraq"; a widespread alliance organized a conference in Berlin in May in this year to support this legitimate resistance. In the efforts to prevent this conference, it was seen once more how important this solidarity is.

An international conference was planned for solidarity with the resistance for October 1st- 2nd in Chianciano. It can be seen in the attacks during the preparation process how this conference bothered the ruling forces; home-searches, arrestment of the organizators and confiscation of the materials. When the organizer were not intimidated by this, other means were tried; 44 US senators put the Italian government under pressure after which the visa for the participants of the conference from Iraq were denied giving the reason that they were "preachers of hate" and a "threat for the national security". The response of the organizers was a hunger strike. As the conference couldn't take place as scheduled on 1st and 2nd October, an international protest act was planned for these days.

It is made impossible for the people to express their thoughts and to discuss freely in a country where so-called democracy rules. By these acts, Berlusconi's government and Bush's administration taught us one more time what we must understand from their democracy: arbitrance, absence of the rights and oppression.

But not only Berlusconis, Bushes, Blairs exist in the world; millions of oppressed who want a world with peace and freedom also exist in the world. The imperialists know very well that their existence will not last so long. Because nothing can stop the direction of the world. If peoples unite and revolt together against imperialist wars, occupations, neoliberal attacks, there can be no force to stop them.

The Iraqi and Palestinian people show us the way, let's follow them!
