The war and occupation of Iraq is a clear expression of how far the inter-imperialist contradictions have been sharpened in the Middle East. The 1st Gulf War in 1991 and the 2nd Gulf War, which resulted in the collapse of the Saddam regime, shows the importance of our region for US imperialism, the one who acted fast to implement its concept of world hegemony and who has certain superiority over its rivals.

US imperialism began to experience another Vietnam syndrome in Iraq, which it has occupied together with its allies under the pretext of weapons of mass destruction, connections with Al Qaeda and under the name of freedom and "fighting against international terrorism". But the reasons put forward by the occupants, those who were not welcomed with flowers as they expected, came to be clear as lies in a short time. The Iraqi people do not want the occupiers talking about bringing democracy to Iraq as it is the case in Afghanistan.

The occupants are reaping what they have sown; they have plundered the richness of Iraq, humiliated the people, tortured, killed and forced them to go into exile. But today they cannot enter into many regions of the country, experiencing difficult times in the face of the resistance even in the secured zones.

They made it their job to occupy countries under the name of "fighting against international terrorism", established protectorates according to their own interests and carried out massacres. They have occupied Iraq in order to set full hegemony in the Middle East, to control the energy resources of Iraq, to gain another post in the fight for world domination, to be one step forward than other imperialist rivals in the re-sharing of the world and to realize the "Great Middle East Project" step-by-step. But they could not reach their aim. They have signed agreements for oil together with their puppet government and were able to keep their rivals away from the country until now. But they could not break the resistance. They were forced to make plans for withdrawal even when they are increasing the number of troops in order to be effective and surrender Iraq.

The Iraqi resistance shows that "the false calculation would return from Baghdad" (a Turkish saying). The resistance has brought to nothing all of their plans to occupy the Middle East and to realize the "Great Middle East Project". They are not able to prevent the increasing attacks of the resistance movement. The unification of command within the Iraqi resistance and its expansion from being a regional movement to a national one indicates the progress made in the fight against the occupation in Iraq. In the right meaning of the word, the resistance has broken their backbone and turned their plans into a day-dream. Their provocation of religious conflict gives no result anymore. Iraqi people from all religious sects see that it is the occupants and the collaborators, who sold themselves to occupiers, who are the real enemies.

They are also being condemned on the international arena. From America to Asia, Africa to Europe, millions are damning them. The most magnificent demonstrations against the occupation are organised in the USA; this however is a clear expression of their exposure in the eyes of the US people too. The Americans do not want their children to be killed for the interests of the oil monopolies anymore.

They think that they can come out of this tough situation by attacking Iran after Afghanistan and Iraq, but they are wrong. Neither the occupants nor Zionism will reach their goal. From Palestine to Lebanon, Turkey to Iraq, Iran to Syria and Kurdistan, the united struggle of the people of our region against imperialism, Zionism and their collaborators is not the question of the far future. The brotherhood of the people of Middle East is not a dream. They shall not be able to hold in the face of the resisting forces and will be kicked out of our region without having the chance to look back as it happened in Vietnam.
