The visits of the fascist dictatorship to USA organised by two different wings of it ended with disappointment. It is already an important event itself that the military wing knocked the doors of White House just after the civil (government) wing. It was a direct expression of the political crisis within the state. This shows that the political power in Turkey has been divided into two -as the government and the army- and that one can be government without the support of the army but no one can be the political power without the army.
They went there with great hopes.
Through the Minister of External Affairs, Gul, the government tried to explain to the US government that "it was them who could market Turkey the best for defending the US interests". After them, through its highest-rank representative, the Turkish army tried to say that it was their side which could do this the best.
The aim of the visits to USA by Gul (Minister of External Affairs) and Buyukanit (Chief of the General Staff) were the question of Iraq, the existence of PKK in Iraq and the draft decision about the Armenian genocide which is on the agenda of the US Congress. Meanwhile, the aim of the US imperialism was to re-organise the situation of the Turkish fascist dictatorship in order to strengthen its own position in the Middle East as a part of its strategy for the world hegemony. USA tries to involve Turkey in the Iraq Question and in a possible attack against Iran. The meeting of and the government with Olmert who came to Turkey in the same period has also been a fruitful meeting for the plans of USA and Israel about the Middle East and Iran.
The US imperialism gave the Turkish side many advices about the Iraqi problem: T. Casey, Spokesman of the State Department told them that Iraq President J. Talabani and the Local Administration of the Iraqi Kurdistan collaborate with Turkey and USA in the struggle against PKK and that Turkey should be in a dialog with these Kurdish leaders.
Before, during and after his visit, Buyukanit spoke at a higher tune on his own:
"I clearly express that the Iraqi part has been left to PKK."... "You should better do whatever you can do against the terrorist organisation, otherwise we will do the necessary.".
He also said:
"The Turkish Republic has never come face to face with such big risks, threats and difficulties since 1923" and "A very big game is to begin... Kurdish conferences... has been organised in the last months. When you have a careful look at the resolutions of these conferences, you will understand who the actors that will start this game are".
By these words, he threatened USA on one hand that they should do something and otherwise Turkey would do anything including a common act with Russia and on the other hand, he gave the message that the liberator of Turkey is the army. It was not just a coincidence that the speech of Putin in Munih was published on the website of the General Staff of Turkey.
It seems that the recent warning of Buyukanit has become the new "red line" of the fascist dictatorship. Another "red line" of the army is hidden in the words about Barzani and Talabani: "I, as a soldier, will not meet with them, whoever speaks with the leaders in Iraq, I will not". This was at the same time a threat against the government. The crisis of "to meet or not meet" with the Kurdish leaders was postponed to the meeting of MGK (National Security Council) and the generals withdrew their threats at the meeting of MGK on 23 February. They came to the conclusion that they could meet with the Kurdish leaders in the south and by this way, it was announced that they would follow the advices of USA.
What US imperialism wants from fascist dictatorship is quite clear: "We can liquidate PKK, but you cannot speak bad words about the Kurdish state that is being formed in the South and about Kirkuk. You should recognise and be in a dialog with the Kurdish leaders. You should be on our side against Iran. You must not make us come face to face with another refusal of the decree of sending troops, like the refusal of sending troops to Iraq by the Congress. Only if you fulfil these conditions, we could think about the liquidation of PKK". The announcement of Buyukanit that the Iran missiles are threatening Turkey has a meaning in this sense.
The US imperialism will take some steps only for show in order to make the fascist dictatorship serve completely to its interests. As they always do, they will say that "they do their best to liquidate PKK" and they will also take some steps in this sense. It was a clear expression of this that an attack of imprisonment was launched against PKK in France. In any case, they will take such measures in order to stop the threats of the fascist dictatorship about crossing the border and entering Iraq.
Iran was a common agenda for both the visit of Buyukanit to Washington and that of Olmert to Ankara. It is quite clear that a possible attack of USA on Iran will be carried out by the collaboration of USA and Israel. US imperialism tries to tow Turkey for this attack and to use it whenever its interests require it. It is clear that this issue has been discussed in Washington and Ankara.
As a conclusion, the developments after the visits also show that the fascist dictatorship has not found at the gates of Washington what it had expected before and it turned back with a few advices in its hands.
