Hüseyin Kayacı 1969 - 6 May 2001 Comrade Huseyin Kayaci was born in the year of 1969 in the village of Mehmet Dede Obluk which is part of Osmancik district of Corum . He left secondary school in his third year to support his dad who was a retired mine worker and his family economically. Before joining military service he worked on different jobs, such as in coffee shops and as a bagel seller. Afterwards Comrade Huseyin went to Izmir and it took him a long time to adjust to this city. Within four years as a sailor he went to Spain, Italy, Beirut, Slovenia, Algeria, Bilbao and Israel. He became acquainted with atheism. Whilst reading revolutionary socialist journals he became acquainted with organised struggle. His first political activity was the work he has done as propaganda against military service. At the start of 1993 in Izmir, he formed an organic relationship with one of our leaders; with his own efforts he read, researched and developed himself. Between 1993-1995 he undertook every duty, with all his abilities, he sacrificed himself to the struggle, to the labourers and workers. Even through a short period of relationship discontinuity he still read, researched, followed the party publications regularly, continued archiving activity without any delay. In 1996, comrade Huseyin could be seen at the death fast boycotts, in the labourers’ districts, in prisons, with the prisoners’ relatives, at press releases, in various overtakings of political party buildings and in the protests organised by the relatives of prisoners in Ankara. In 1996 as a result of intense operations, Menemen Asarik took considerable blows so Huseyin was given the duty of working there. In this area where not even one newspaper was attainable, in a short period of time, 30-40 newspapers were given out, with trust, opportunity and his encouraging way he tidied up the relationships, which were scattered and casual. During the Susurluk period, in Menemen he turned a spark of protest into a street demonstration of 400-500 people. From March 1997 he started working as a labourer at Aliaga Vessel Removal Facilities. He joined the union activities at his work place and as a result of these activities in October 1997 he was arrested and received a prison sentence of 12.5 years for being a member of MLKP. This period of being arrested and interrogated was a new struggle position for our comrade. The methods carried out despicably by the enemy including rape and sexual harassment caused class grudge and party identity to blast. As the instigator of the attacks on Bergama prison he was transferred into Buca prison. Comrade Huseyin came out of the interrogations having made our party's resistance tradition stronger. On December 10, 2000, the MLKP case prisoners, started an indefinite hunger strike and on the 3rd of January they converted it into a death fast, in which Huseyin took part in the first team of resistance without hesitance. On the 21st of April 2001 he was transferred to Yesilyurt State Hospital. Our comrade who lost his consciousness on the 6th of May was taken into intensive care where his legs were chained and where he was exposed to torture of forced feeding by intravenous injections. On the 148th day of the resistance revolution and struggle for socialism we have lost another communist labour leader. He wanted all his friends and comrades to keep themselves as genuine as he himself was. MLKP case prisoner comrade Huseyin, in his will, requested his comrades: "Bury me in Menemem Cemetery because there is only a few revolutionary Martyrs buried there." According to comrade Huseyin’s last request, with the help of his family, comrades and with the support of the poor labourers of Asarlik and Menemen, despite all of the enemy's games, he was bought to his resting place in a way that befitted a communist. Comrade Huseyin always came out of every battle that he went into with victory. He knew how to make himself ready and offered himself for new battles. He showed us the way by being a flag in our passion for our struggle and organisation.
