18 May 2010 /International Bureau / Statement No: 51
The general strike, which was started on May 2 under the leadership of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) in order to force the Nepalese government to resign after the huge celebrations of Mayday 2010 with the participation of hundreds of thousands of people, has brought new seperations and polarizations. It has become open that the conditions, the relations of power and the balances of a "dual power" will not continue too long. The Indian expansionism, the US imperialism and the bourgeois parties from Nepal are collaborating in order to defeat the Nepalese revolution, to isolate the UCPN(M) or to narrow its mass-base and, as the most important, to create a legitimate ground inside and outside the country for a possible military intervention. The Nepalese revolution is passing through a crucial process. And the Maoist revolutionaries who are aware of this fact are preparing themselves to guarantee the revolution through a new people's movement and uprising, to advance the anti-imperialist democratic revolution and to establish "the new democratic people's power". The revolution in Nepal is the first revolution of the 21st century. It is a post and an achievement of the world revolutionary movement. It is a historical and political duty of the world revolutionary and progressive parties to defend and embrace this post and to show support and solidarity. This historical and political task cannot be fulfilled only with some political statements and protests. It can only be carried out by increasing the internationalist struggle against the Indian expansionism and Nepalese reaction through different means and forms of revolutionary action. The process of revolution in Nepal may be the scene of a political-military conflict of wills at the end of May 2010. It may face the possible attacks and sieges of the Indian and native reaction. We call upon all the oppressed peoples and the proletariat of the world, friend and comrade revolutionary and communist parties to organise actions and demonstrations in front of the Indian embassies with their own power and peoples for international support to the Nepalese revolution, the new people's movement and resistance led by the UCPN(M) and their struggle for independence and freedom. Long live the Nepalese revolution and the international solidarity! MLCP Turkey/Northern Kurdistan
