This massacre openly shows the genocidal character of the total war waged against the Kurdish nation and its freedom movement as well as pointing at the fact that the liquidation attack will be increased through the most shameful and anti-human dirty war methods, massacres against civilians and assassinations. 01 January 2012 /International Bulletin / Issue 112
Since the foundation of the Turkish Republic the bloody chain of massacres against the Kurdish people is continuing. The colonialist fascist regime still continues its policy of negation and annihilation. Erdogan and its AKP continue the policy of liquidation, which it developed with maneuvers like the "Kurdish Initiative", with military and political total war. The measures such as the detention and imprisonment of thousands of Kurdish politicians, elected representatives, journalists and activists reaching the dimension of a political genocide, the total isolation on the Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan continuing for some months, depriving him of seeing his lawyers and family, the mass imprisonment of tens of his lawyer, uninterrupted bomb attacks against the guerrilla and civilians in Southern Kurdistan since August 20, killing of Kurdish laborers, youth and children during demonstrations have arisen to a new level now with a massacre of 34 peasants in the village Roboski in Uludere. On December 28, 2011, F16 war planes of the Turkish Army attacked a group of poor peasants making border trade and killed 34 Kurdish peasants, 17 out of them children. With this planned massacre of civilians taking place a few hours after a MGK meeting, it became clearer that the war against the Kurdish people has the character of total war. This massacre openly shows the genocidal character of the total war waged against the Kurdish nation and its freedom movement as well as pointing at the fact that the liquidation attack will be increased through the most shameful and anti-human dirty war methods, massacres against civilians and assassinations. It is an attempt of frightening and threating the people making clear that it is not only a war against the guerrilla forces or political parties but that the whole Kurdish nation is targeted. After the massacre, the bourgeois media and the state authorities, the AKP leaders at the first place, defended the murderers through cynical statements. They claimed that this happened due to an accident or a mistake on the one hand and presented this kind of "mistakes" as inevitable losses in the struggle against terrorism on the other hand. These were the most open confessions of the genocidal approach. Moreover, clear and naked facts show that the massacre is a planned one. It is obvious, that it should be quiet easy to distinguish a group of unarmed peasants from a guerrilla squad for the colonialist fascist Turkish army which is donated with high intelligence technology like thermal cameras, unmanned air vehicles etc. Moreover, it is well known by the police stations near the border of Turkey and Iraq that the peasants are engaged in smuggling. It is known that the police and soldiers were pre-informed about the group of 50 peasants attacked by the war planes. It is known that right before the massacre the Regiment Commander of Gulyazi has warned the Division Headquarter of Sirnak saying: "They are smugglers, we know them. Do not touch them". Moreover, facts like ambulances coming from Sirnak and elsewhere having been stopped, nobody from the nearby police station being sent to the place of the massacre despite of being informed, the autopsy not being carried out in detail, the reaction of the US ambassador in Ankara, who openly supports the colonialist fascist regime and its policy of massacring civilians, making clear that this massacre fits into the plans of US imperialism against the Kurdish freedom movement and many other evidences are showing that this was a planned massacre by nobody else than the bourgeois Turkish state itself. Just as in the incident that Erdogan and the AKP government put the Dersim Massacre on the agenda while they were carrying out massacres against the guerrilla forces on the mountains of Kurdistan, they imprisoned the former chief of the general staff Ilker Basbug right after the massacre in Roboski. This is a continuation of their hypocritical policies. It can be seen even clearer today than yesterday that such measures of so-called democratization by Erdogan and the AKP government, the bloody-handed murderers who have carried out common massacres with Ilker Basbug until a short time ago, are the moves made as a part of the internal conflicts of the bourgeoisie and attempts of changing the agenda of the peoples and deceiving them. The history of the colonialist Turkish bourgeois state is full of such mass massacres against the Kurdish people at the first place and also against the Armenians, Greek minority, Allevites etc. Massacre of the civilians is the traditional state policy of the Turkish bourgeois state. HPG and the Kurdish freedom forces showed a strong reaction against the massacre. On December 31, 2011, the Headquarters of HPG published a statement saying: "This massacre has been carried out very deliberately as a result of the decision of the MGK meeting. The aim is to threaten the Kurdish people". They expressed that the responsible ones for the massacre are, first of all, Prime Minister Erdogan, Bulent Arinc, chief of the general staff Necdet Ozel, Minister of Internal Affairs Idris Naim Sahin and the president Abdullah Gul and they said: "As HPG we make it clear that everybody should know that we will ask account of the massacre from those we have stated above as the responsible ones". Co-presidents of BDP Selahattin Demirtas and Gulten Kisanak and the other MPs of BDP made statements asking account for the massacre have also been the announcement at first hand that the Kurdish people will not step back in face of this attack of threat. The urgent need of opening a strong second front both at the political and military level in Turkey is continuing to be the key issue of a solution of the Kurdish question and the united revolution.
