Our party MLCP, which was founded as a product of the unity achieved by communist organisations on September 10, 1994, celebrates its 18th year of struggle. Our party MLCP was founded as a result of the efforts of the communists for unity throughout the years from 1989 to 1994 that was carried out on the ground created by the organisations which were the processors of our party. They were shaped by great efforts and sacrifices in the revolutionary struggle that was flourished by the revolutionary surge in 1971 in the region of Turkey and Northern Kurdistan and that developed under the military coups and fascist repression. The revolutionary activities decreased to a very weak level in the Turkish part after the military fascist coup of 1980 in face of which the revolutionary movement in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan suffered a heavy defeat and entered a process of recuperation starting from only 1987. At the same period, the working class' struggle was developing through the Netas strike in 1987 and the strikes and actions in the spring of 1989. However, the working class movement and the communist movement were flowing through two different channels. At this period, the Kurdish armed national struggle, that started under the leadership of PKK in Northern Kurdistan and that achieved a great surge with the Semdinli Leap in 1984 reached the level of a national revolution in the beginning of the 90s. These conditions were making the principle of unity of the communists an urgent political task in the way for the united revolution in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan. The panorama in the international area was the collapse of the modern revisionism in the Soviet Union and the Eastern Europe countries in 1989-1991. This process was accompanied by the imperialist bourgeoisie's propaganda that socialism and the class struggle were dead, by a world-wide break of hope and an intensified wind of liquidation. Through the Unity Revolution, the communists fulfilled a significant task in Turkey, Kurdistan and international area. The struggle for unity itself has been a method and experience gained for the international communist movement. Our party MLCP fights for overthrowing capitalism which is the system of waged slavery and for the proletariat dictatorship in order to reach its definitive goal which is communism. MLCP's program of anti-imperialist democratic revolution includes the establishment of a Union of Workers-Labourers Soviet Republics' on the base of voluntary, free and equal unity of the peoples of Turkey and Northern Kurdistan. Our party MLCP has increased the hope of revolution under the uninterrupted fire of the colonialist fascist regime throughout the years of its struggle left behind. It has developed in the Gazi Uprising, in the struggles against torture and forced disappearances, in the resistances at workplaces and production zones, in youth struggles, in the women's fight for emancipation, in the anti-imperialist resistances, in the efforts for the fraternisation of the Turkish workers and labourers and the Kurdish people against the colonialist fascist policies of annihilation and denial in Kurdistan. Our party MLCP, which is the branch of the international communist movement in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan, has been giving efforts for the unity of the international communist movement, and for advancing the international solidarity and collaboration in strict connection to the ground of practical politics and on the base of real relations. Since its foundation, our party MLCP has resisted and fought gloriously and with head held high against the repression, intimidation and isolation policies and attacks of arrest and imprisonment, forced disappearance and massacres. Through this history, in which many of its fighters, militants turned into martyrs, our party has been fighting under fire in order to carry out its goal of dictatorship of the proletariat. Our part MLCP enters its 18th year of struggle in such period where an open war is being waged with the aim of smashing the Kurdish freedom movement in the region of Turkey/Northern Kurdistan, the Kurdish freedom forces respond this war by achieving great posts in Western and Northern Kurdistan, the tendency of unity among the workers' and labourers' resistances in the West and huge waves of revolt shake the world, at the first place in Europe, Middle East and North Africa. These developments make the necessity and requirement of a communist vanguard more obvious in order to overthrow the imperialist-capitalist system.
