The solidarity campaign initiated on 1 September 2013 by ICOR (The International Coordination of Revolutionary Party and Organisations) ends with success.

The international campaign, which was decided and carried out upon the suggestion of our Party, MLKP, had begun with an introduction on international anti-war day, ICOR’s joint struggle day, through numerous demonstrations organised by ICOR member organisations both in Europe and outside the continent.  

Many informative meetings and panels were organised in the countries such as Germany, Britain, France, Switzerland and Holland which were participated by ICOR member organisations, our Party and PYD representatives from Rojava. In these meetings, on one side, many people in Europe had been informed about the actual developments in Rojava, thus the imperialist medias’ one-sided broadcasts were challenged, on the other, our Party’s views on Rojava revolution and its meaning in the Middle East were spread out. Our Party and other organisations have opened informative stalls and distributed many materials on the streets in order to enlighten people in Europe on imperialist embargoes, struggle against Islamist murderer gangs and reactionary Esad regime, their supporters, and the efforts of Kurdish people for peace and freedom in Rojava.

Beside the political activities, financial and medical aid was collected too. As a result of the campaign 15 thousand Euros, 2630 Switzerland Franks, 2100 Pounds and 25 boxes of medical materials handed to Kurdish Red Moon “Heyva Sor”. Despite their modest character, these donations have represented support for the people’s fight for freedom in Rojava and contributed to the break of imperialist embargoes through international solidarity. 

During the campaign, our comrade Serkan Tosun became immortal on 14 September 2013 in the clashes with Islamist gangs. Serkan was joined in the military defence of Rojava revolution in the name of our Party and people. His martyrdom has shown the entire world the importance of international solidarity in practice and caused enlightenment of consciousness in Europe for solidarity. The commemoration meetings for comrade Serkan everywhere in Europe have also contributed the strengthening and intensification of the campaign.  

We can establish the followings by looking at the course and results of the campaign:  

The campaign has fulfilled different goals with different aspects. First of all, the campaign represented a surge in providing de facto support and enlightening the people and progressive forces in Europe on the situation in Rojava. The campaign was also a modest but de facto and financial support to the Rojava revolution in consideration of the needs.

On the other hand, the campaign was a common work of revolutionary party and organisations under ICOR initiative. Of course, this aspect of the campaign was not explicit and a few ICOR members were joined intensely in the campaign. But, in spite of that, it was an experience for revolutionary organisations of different countries to organise much bigger joint international campaigns and actions in the future.    

The international solidarity was and is still the greatest weapon of revolutionary and communist forces against bourgeoisie. We must challenge the international attacks of the imperialists by international solidarity of workers and labourers, oppressed and exploited people, progressive and communist forces on the basis of proletarian internationalism.
