Tahir Elci, chairman of the bar association of Amed (Diyarbakir), a democrat and Kurdish patriot, was killed on 28th November 2015. Together with his colleagues of the bar association Elci was killed during a press release in front of the minaret called “4 Ayakli Minare” whilst defending the minaret against the attacks of the colonial fascist state forces. And this massacre is a planned and organised assassination of the fascist regime. Like all assassinations realised until today, this murder will be explained as a case of where the “murderer is unknown” or of a “stray bullet”. In July 2015 the colonial fascist regime has re-started a dirty war against the Kurdish people in Turkey and Kurdistan, the PKK , our party … and the revolutionary movement. With this war concept mass civilians are being killed by making use of tanks, the army and police, with helicopters and planes. It organised the mass massacres in Amed, Suruc and Ankara through IS and announced a curfew in the cities of Northern Kurdistan that had declared self-determination. These murders are aiming physically extinction. Revolutionary and vanguard powers are being targeted, too. Leaders of the people that make a name in the struggle for freedom and peace are being killed one after another on the street or at their homes. Those who couldn’t be killed are imprisoned. Short time ago HDP co-chairwoman F. Yüksekdag and co-chairman S. Demirtas were targeted in armed attacks. C. Dündar and E. Gül, both journalists of the newspaper Cumhuriyet, were imprisoned for reporting on lorries of the National Intelligence Force carrying weapons to the Islamic gangs. Shortly before his murder, Tahir Elci had answered a question in a TV show that “the PKK is not a terror organization but an armed political organization”. By that he was shown as a target by the bourgeois and government-close media, by deputies etc. Just like years ago the Armenian journalist Hrant Dink. Following that Tahir Elci was arrested in a lynching attack and threatened. His name was put down on the list of murders with unknown offenders of the AKP government and president T. Erdogan. His murderers are these state leaders that lead our peoples to war. Tahir Eli said at the end of the press statement: “War, battles, weapons, operations must stay away from this region.” And two minutes later he was killed by a bullet into his neck in the middle of dozens of people. Now the regime wants to acquit itself by deciding to put the case as secret. Tahir Elci was a Kurd intellectual struggling for human rights and leading a judicial fight. He believed in that, he was brave and determined. He didn’t care about the colonial regime’s attacks to threaten and scare him because he was a son of the Kurdish people that fight for freedom and honour. He shouted into the executioner’s face that he was not scared. Tahir Elci was investigating the massacres of Amed, Suruc and Ankara and one after another he investigated every assassination. As a lawyer he investigated the cases of the Roboski massacre, the KCK cases and the disappearance of 21 people in Cizre. He was a “freedom fighter”. He was killed because he defended peace. T. Elci’s murder shows the bloody face of the fascist regime. It shows that there will be more political assassinations, executions on the street and at home and new cases of murders with unknown offenders. These politics based on murders are steps by the Islamic fascist regime to strengthen the counter-revolution against the revolution. The revolutionary and communist movement faces the historical duty to organise its own revolutionary will and war against the fascist counter-revolutionary force.
